The trebuchet or catapult is a medieval invention originally designed to lay siege to fortresses and castles. The largest of them could hurl immense stones hundreds of yards. Dating back to thousands of years ago, catapults have always been a useful tool. Everyone loves catapults. Kids make them at science fairs, and adults make them, for the fun of it. Now you can use this catapult guide to win that science fair, or be a smash hit at that pumpkin throwing contest.

Instructions on How to Build a Catapult:

(Note: A simple trick on this site is to look on the upper left corner where it shows the steps  to build your project. Click "View All Steps on One Page" is much easier than clicking on each separate step which takes you to a different page each time.

This link will take you to a builder who has extensively illustrated and given detailed materials needed, plus easy to understand instructions for building a large catapult. "There are already a few large-scale Trebuchet Instructables out there, but for the low-tech medieval enthusiasts, here is the first large-scale catapult Instructable!" Click Here for instructions!
