To help you reduce the curious risk of diving, please carefully consider the benefits of the following dive safety equipment:
Rescue Sausages:
Designed primarily to help dive boats find you. Most will fit into your BC pocket.
Sound Alerts:
Designed to produce a loud noise at the surface which can alert others that you're in trouble. The best ones use air from your scuba tank.
Flares:
Waterproof flares are designed to help dive boats find you. Most will fit into your BC pocket. Highly recommended if you do a lot of drift diving.
Strobe Lights:
This is essential equipment for your night dives and drift dives. They produce a very bright light which can be seen from a great distance.
Dive Computers:
Dive computers are manufactured primarily to calculate remaining no-decompression limits while you are diving. If used properly, they can enhance your safety. If not, they increase the natural risk of decompression illness.
Spare Air/Pony Bottle:
These systems are designed to give you an alternate air source that is not dependent on air from your tank. Highly recommended if you enter caves or penetrate wrecks.
